Mac Forbes (Yarra Valley, Australia) and Michael Brajkovich MW from Kumeu River (Auckland, New Zealand) will join us on the 16th May at La Trompette (Chiswick, London) to host a winemaker dinner.

Price £100/person includes a 4 course dinner and 9 wines to taste.

April 2013 Award Winning Portuguese Wines

On the 18th April 2013, Olly Smith unveiled his selection of the 50 Great Portuguese Wines at Centre Point in London.

We are very proud to announce that two of our wines were amongst the winners. They are:

• Filipa Pato FP Branco 2012: the 2011 vintage had also been selected by Julia Harding MW last year. Filipa is obviously very consistent. This is what Olly Smith thinks of it "Sip it and see for yourself the splash of freshness, like catching a whiff of the seaside on a cool breeze. Long-lasting flavours
  resonate on the finish and I love the concept of wine "without make-up". Sometimes we can do too much to smother what's there - fruit, glorious fruit".

• Anselmo Mendes Vinho Verde Muros de Melgaço Alvarinho 2011: the bottle shaped like the Shard caught Olly's eye and his taste buds "Melgaço? I say Megalicious. It's mega in every way with a hoofing fat rich creamy texture, showing a touch of evolution as you'd expect for its age which adds a certain savoury complexity. One to pair with creamy seaside dishes. Matched with fish pie, this is scrumptious."

24 April 2013 Big Fortified Tasting

For the first time, we took part in the BFT (Big Fortified Tasting) and had a very busy day.

We showed 3 wines from Coume del Mas (Banyuls Blanc, Galateo and Quintessence) and a new wine from Filipa Pato (Espirito de Baga), they were all very well received.
