A shout out to Anselmo Mendes‘ Vinhão 2018!

This red vinho verde is a wonderfully different style of light red wine that we are used to in the UK. It is one of those indigenous grape varieties that you usually only find when you travel to Portugal and taste the local delicacies.

Fay Maschler recently visited Bar Douro in London and exclaimed:

“but just one observation must suffice. A red vinho verde, meaning young wine, can satisfy a liking for light reds. The Anselmo Mendes Vinhão 2018 did just that.”
