Harvest dates are early this year, which will make it easier for some and more difficult for others.

At the moment we are confidently expecting the following:

Mac Forbes – we tasted Macs 2010 pinots when they were about a month old last Easter, just as malolactic fermentations were starting, so we had only the roughest idea how they would develop. But 2010 is the vintage we ‘re confident is going to “make” Mac. The wines have, by all accounts, more flesh, a little more colour and loads of charm . Mac will be showing several single vineyard Pinots, as well as Chardonnay, Riesling and Arneis.  He is arriving hot-foot after the Australian Winemaker of the Year awards.  We’re gunning for him (though if Clive Otto from Fraser Gallop pips him, we’ll be just as excited!)

Mike Eaton, TerraVin – Mike is making his first visit to UK since we started working together, and will be assisted by his export manager, Jean-Marie Pratt – known very well to many of us in  London.  Mike’s 2010 Sauvignons are a must-see, especially for those bored of the stereotype of Marlborough SB, and his Pinots look very serious in any company.

Silvia Prieler – Silvia and her brother now run the show in their family winery in Burgenland. Silvia is a leading light in the new Leithaberg DAC and will be showing some of the estate’s great Blaufränkisch, as well as their sensational old vine Pinot Blanc

Carlos Lucas – original founder of Dao Sul is now working on his own on a smaller scale. He will be showing the new vintage of  his own Dao wine “Ribeiro Santo and a couple of other new projects.

Andy Cook, Coume del Mas – now well established in Roussillon, will be showing Collioure Folio and Schiste (white and red) Quadratur and some Banyuls wines; also red and white and Muscat from the Mas Cristine Estate, lying just across the border from Collioure , into Roussillon.

Rainer Wess – Rainer hopes to come, depending on vintage dates. We’ve done really well with his wines this year; they represent all that is lovely about 2010 – cool dry and zesty, but with great weight and complexity. He’ll be showing the three different quality levels he produces for both GV and Riesling.

Gerhard Pittnauer – Hilario is in Burgenland getting stuck into cellar and vineyard work this week.

He’s also there to ensure that Pitti books his flight to come over. So we hope Gerhard will be with us showing his charming Pinot, St Laurent and Blaufränkisch wines.

Other new wines on show without producers:

Fraser Gallop – Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 – their flagship wine from a great vintage – just in.

Filipa Pato – Nossa branco 2010 and Nossa tinto 2009 – two new vintages

Francois Bertheau – some 2008 and 2009 Chambolle from our new great source of Pinot elegance

Domaine Guyon – white Savigny and red Côte de Nuits
