Fifty Great Portuguese Wines 2010
Each year, Viniportugal invites a journalist to make a selection of 50 top wines, which are presented at tastings in London, Edinburgh and Manchester. This year it was Sarah Ahmed's turn, and we were very pleased to have no less then three of our wines selected for the tasting. The Clark Foyster wines were Filipa Pato's Lokal Silex 2008 from the Beira, Encontro 1 2007 from the Bairrada and Quinta da Cabriz 2007 from the Dao. Filipa came over for the tasting and we also met up with our old friend Luis, Filipa's father who was also in the Top Fifty line-up. Filipa's Lokal Silex 2008 was particularly well-received, and was one of the stand-out wines of the tasting for several commentators.
